- 1 tsp cumin seeds

- 4 cups water (adjust as desired)
- Salt to taste

- 2 tbsp ghee or oil
Instructions
- Heat ghee or oil in a large pot over medium heat; add cumin seeds until fragrant.

- Stir in ginger-garlic paste; cook until the raw smell disappears.
- Add tomatoes and cook until softened (about 5β7 minutes).
- Mix in turmeric and red chili powder, then add rinsed lentils and stir well.
- Pour in water; bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer covered for 30β40 minutes until lentils are tender.
