  • 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 24 oz marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a large baking dish.
  2. Cook ziti in salted boiling water until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, brown the Italian sausage over medium heat for about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat and mix in marinara sauce; simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, ricotta, half of both mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, and sausage mixture.
  5. Layer half of the pasta mixture in the baking dish, top with half of the remaining marinara sauce, then add the rest of the pasta mixture and remaining sauce. Sprinkle with remaining cheeses.
  6. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
