  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, and oregano until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
  5. While meatballs bake, warm the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Add baked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Slice open each sub roll and fill with meatballs and sauce. Top with mozzarella cheese.
  8. Broil until cheese is bubbly and golden.
