Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Β½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ΒΌ teaspoon allspice
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and slice apples into small pieces.
  2. In a large pot, combine sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and lemon juice.
  3. Cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes until apples soften.
  4. Remove from heat and puree the mixture until smooth using an immersion blender.
  5. Return to low heat and simmer uncovered for 30-40 minutes until thickened to your preference.
  6. Pour into sterilized jars while hot, allow to cool, then seal tightly.
