  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (divided)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. In one bowl, combine breadcrumbs with half of the Parmesan cheese. In another bowl, beat an egg.
  4. Dip each chicken breast in the egg, then coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; sear chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Transfer chicken to the baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over each piece, then sprinkle remaining Parmesan followed by mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
