- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for drizzling
- Marinara sauce (for serving)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- 2. Set up three shallow bowls: one with beaten eggs, one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder and Italian seasoning, and one with grated Parmesan cheese.
- 3. Dip each chicken breast in the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs followed by Parmesan cheese.
- 4. Place the coated chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish and drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- 5. In the last five minutes of baking, add marinara sauce on top of each chicken breast and sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese. Return to the oven until bubbly.
- 6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
