Experience the ultimate fusion of flavors with these delicious smash burger tacos! Juicy, seasoned beef patties are smashed to perfection and enveloped in warm tortillas, topped with fresh lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and melted cheddar cheese. Perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings, this recipe promises a satisfying meal that will have everyone coming back for seconds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20)
  • 2 tsp taco seasoning
  • 4 medium flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 large ripe tomato, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream or guacamole (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients on your counter for easy access. Chop the lettuce and slice the tomato.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and sprinkle with taco seasoning, breaking it apart as it cooks until browned (5-7 minutes).
  3. Use a spatula to smash each portion of beef into the skillet, creating crispy edges (about 3 minutes per side).
  4. In the last minute of cooking, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over each patty and cover briefly to melt.
  5. Warm tortillas in another pan or microwave until soft.
  6. Assemble tacos by placing a cheesy patty on each tortilla, topping with lettuce, tomato, and sour cream or guacamole before folding.
