Ingredients
- 9 oven-ready lasagna noodles
- 1 lb lean ground beef or sausage
- 15 oz fresh ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded whole milk mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cups marinara sauce
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 large eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or sausage until no longer pink. Drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce; let simmer for about 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, eggs, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of a baking dish. Layer noodles on top without overlapping. Add half of the cheese mixture followed by more sauce and another layer of noodles; repeat until all ingredients are used.
- Top with mozzarella and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Cover loosely with foil.
- Bake for about 30 minutes; remove foil during the last 10 minutes for a golden crust. Let cool slightly before serving.
