  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp celery, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp red onion, diced
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 slices sourdough or whole grain bread
  • 1 tbsp butter (for spreading)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine drained tuna, mayonnaise, celery, and red onion; mix until well combined.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. On the unbuttered side of one slice, spread the tuna mixture and top with shredded cheddar cheese. Place the other slice on top (buttered side up).
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwich until golden brown on one side (about 3-4 minutes). Flip carefully and grill until both sides are golden and cheese is melted.
