Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup toasted pecans (chopped)
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes). Add melted butter and salt, then gradually mix in flour to form a soft dough.
  2. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl; cover and let rise in a warm spot until doubled (about 1 hour).
  3. Prepare the filling by mixing brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread filling evenly over it. Roll tightly into a log and slice into equal pieces.
  5. Grease a baking dish; pour maple syrup evenly across the bottom. Place sliced buns cut-side down in the dish and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
