Philly cheese steak sandwiches are a mouthwatering delight that combine tender ribeye steak, gooey provolone cheese, and sautéed onions and peppers, all nestled in a soft hoagie roll. This iconic dish is simple to make at home and perfect for game nights or casual dinners. With each bite, you’ll experience a burst of flavor that transports you straight to Philadelphia!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ribeye steak (thinly sliced)
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 oz provolone cheese (sliced)
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 1 bell pepper (sliced)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by slicing the ribeye, onion, and bell pepper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the onions and bell peppers until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
  3. Increase the heat to high, add the ribeye slices, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned but still juicy, about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Lower the heat slightly, lay slices of provolone cheese over the beef, cover with a lid until melted (2-3 minutes).
  5. Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise and fill each with the steak mixture.
  6. Serve warm with crispy fries or pickles.
